Department of English, GCW Kathua concludes Workshop on Effective Communication Skills

Kathua:- A Five Days Workshop on Effective Communication Skills was concluded today on 20th feb 2024 by the Department of English in Government Degree College for Women, Kathua. The Workshop was organised under the banner of Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC). It was commenced on 15th feb 2024.

The programme was commenced with the formal welcome address proposed by Surbhi Gupta Assistant Professor of Computer Science.

The workshop was held under the guidance and supervision of the Principal of the College, Dr Inderjeet Kour. Speaking on the occasion, the Principal of the college Dr. Inderjeet Kour congratulated the department of English and the whole organising committee for the smooth and effectively conducting the Workshop.

She expressed that workshop was a significant milestone in the professional as well as personal development of the participants. However, she also urged the students to take part in such workshops so as to develop their invaluable insights into effective verbal and non verbal communication techniques, active listening strategies and the art of delivering impactful presentations.  Karam Chand, Assistant Professor, HOD Department of English, and Dr. Naseer Mir Lecturer Department of English remained the resource persons on the occasion.

Karam Chand Assistant Professor, HOD Department of English threw light on the reflections of five days workshop, by mentioning a detailed report of the event. He also expressed his gratitude for the efforts put forth by the organising committee to make the event as a successful one.

However some participants also came forward to express their feedback regarding the outcome of the workshop. Among others Ms. Navdeep Kaur, Mehnaz Akhtar and Komal Sharma expressed their delightfulness over the benefits of the workshop.   The function was compared by Surbhi Gupta, Assistant Professor in Computer Application. Among other faculty members,  Dr. Babita Mahajan, Dr Rachna Devi, Dr Yash Paul, Dr Kamini Kapoor, Mr. Sachinjeet Singh, Dr Sonika Rajput, were present on the occasion. Dr. Nasser Mir Lect. English, second Resource Person of the event, expressed a formal vote of thanks. The workshop was organised and coordinated by the organising committee members Sachinjeet Singh, Surbhi Gupta , Dr Kamini Kapoor, Dr. Ritu Raj, Dr Sonika Rajput, and Surekha Rani.
