Department of Mining Seizes Nine Vehicles Involved in Illegal Mining in Poonch District
Dismantles path used by the mining mafia at village khenater and warns vehicle owners of heavy penalties for illegal mining
POONCH, July 14: On the direction of Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Yasin M Choudhary, the Department of Geology and Mining, in presence of DMO, Javid Iqbal, seized nine vehicles involved in illegal mining and lifting of raw material without a valid e-challan in different parts of the district.
The vehicles were seized three in Kalai, two in Drungli, three in Jhullas, and one at Chandimarh and were later handed over to the police for safe custody.
Additionally, the Department also dismantled a path used by the mining mafia for illegal mining.
The Department of Mining has conveyed a stern warning to all vehicle owners to not indulge in illegal mining activities and not take any material without a valid e-challan. Any vehicle found involved in illegal mining shall be seized, and heavy penalties shall be imposed.
The Department of Mining is committed to curb illegal mining activities in Poonch district and will take strict action against anyone found violating the rules and regulations.
The general public is requested to cooperate with the Department of Mining in its efforts to preserve the natural resources of the district.
