Department of Physics and Astronomical Sciences, CU Jammu receives ₹174 Lakh FIST Grant
Jammu, 24th Dec, 2024: The Department of Physics and Astronomical Sciences at the Central University of Jammu has reached a significant milestone by receiving a ₹174 Lakh grant under the prestigious FIST (Fund for Improvement of S&T Infrastructure) program of the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India. The FIST program aims to build and enhance the infrastructure for teaching and research in higher education institutions, enabling them to stay at the forefront of scientific advancements. With this grant, the department will acquire state-of-the-art equipment, establish advanced laboratories, and promote cutting-edge research in emerging areas of science and technology.
Prof. Sanjeev Jain, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Central University of Jammu, congratulated the department on this outstanding achievement. He commended the faculty for their unwavering dedication and emphasized the critical role of robust scientific infrastructure in achieving excellence in education and research.
