Department of telecommunication, Jammu in collaboration with Art of Living organized ‘Har Ghar Dhyan’ workshop

JAMMU, July 27: Department of telecommunication, licensed servicearea(LSA) J&K, Jammu in collaboration with Art of Living organized ‘Har Ghar Dhyan’ workshop under the patronage of Deputy Director General(I.T.S) Arun Agarwal and supervision of Assistance Director of DOT(LSA) Vijay kumar in which scores of senior official and staff participated which was held at Art of living Gyan Mandir Temple of knowledge,  Adarsh Enclave, Trikuta nagar jammu,j&k.

The Union Ministry of Culture has collaborated with Art of Living to reach out to the masses and youth to educate them about mental health and empower them with the tool of meditation for better health. The project was launched on 26th October 2022 at the international headquarters of the Art of Living at Bangalore and done more than 12000 meditation sessions as on date across country. The Art of Living Foundation is a volunteer-based, humanitarian and educational non-governmental organization (NGO) having its centres at 180 countries. It was founded in 1981 by Guru dev Shri Shri Ravi Shankar. Under the banner of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav,. This scheme puts into action the Jan-Bhagidari model to empower the youth towards better health and create a more resilient future for the country.

The Har Ghar Dhyan meditation Session under the patronage of Deputy Director General I.T.S, Arun Agarwal, Resorce Persons Ajay Kapoor, State Coordinator Art of Living-
bureau of communications and projects and Shakti Sagar, senior faculty and DTC
both from The Art of living Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh and in the presence of Sudarshan sudan DGM (Admin) BSNL and along with senior DOT and BSNL officials.

Started by the welcome address by Vijay kumar , Assistance Director of DOT in which he
explained such sessions and practices are need of the hour for all. He talked about
upcoming programmes in DOT onset of Azadi Ka Amrit Mohastav, national directive andguidelines to work seriously on stress management of Senior officials and staff of DOT
and BSNL.

The resource persons for the workshop were Shakti Sagar, senior faculty and DTC,
The Art of living Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh Chapter & Ajay Kapoor, State coordinator, Art of Living Bureau of Communications and Projectsthe Art of living Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh Chapter. Shakti Sagar very beautifully explained how the change in life style adopting meditation, pranayama and stress relieving kriyas help in boosting immunity and health, relieve stress, anxiety and depression, and has ability to manage our mind, increasing Stamina to work relentlessly for longer durations due to such nature of their job. He conducted pranayama and short but powerful meditation sessions for faculty members and Students. The Senior official and staff felt very relaxed and positive after the meditation session and shared it.The practice of meditation is to maintain mental hygiene, A calm mind, focused attention, good concentration, improved communication skills, unshakeable inner strength, healing powers, relaxation, rejuvenation, better sleep quality are the natural effects of meditation practice said Ajay Kapoor in concluding session. A Q and A session was also conducted for participants.

In his vote of thanks, while closing the session Arun Agarwal thanks to all participant
of senior official and staff of DOT and BSNL, Ajay kapoor and Shakti sagar. Planters
were also given in the honour to Ajay kapoor and shakti sagar as token of
appreciation. Arun agarwal promised to be in association with ART OF LIVING for
happiness workshop for the well being of DOT and BSNL Officials.
