Dept of Library and Information Science, JU organized an Induction programme

Jammu, Jan 11- Department of Library and Information Science organized an Induction programme to newly admitted students of B.Lib.I.Sc and M.Lib.I.Sc, Session 2022-2023 to the programme.

The objective of the programme was to make parents and students aware of the academic aspects of the course, and the rules and regulations of the institute, and ensure parental participation in monitoring the performance and progress of the students.

The day was marked by the presence of Dr. SeemaLalotra, GCW Jindra, Mr. Sanjay Sharma, IIIM, Jammu, Dr. Tarseem Singh, University of Jammu, Dr. Joginder Singh, University of Jammu, Mrs.Anuradha, University of Jammu, and Dr. Mohd. Shahid, University of Jammu.

The programme began with a welcoming note of Prof. Sangita Gupta, Head of the Department welcomed distinguished guests, students, parents, and faculty members and introduced the guest to the audience. Prof. Gupta in her speech shared the experience of her journey with the department and urged the students to keep up with the changing trends in the library and information science.

She also polishes their understanding of the basic subjects to boost their knowledge of the subject that they will face in the upcoming years of their academics. Being motivated by the words, students also shared their experiences with the department.

Other faculty members and alumni also shared their valuable vision of the library. The whole programme was moderated by Dr. Pramod Kumar Singh. Sr. Asst. Prof. DLIS.

The programme came to a formal end with a vote of thanks by AshwinKushwaha, Asst. Prof, DLIS where thanked the guest for their kind presence and valuable time and wished the first-year students a hearty welcome to the department.
