Dept of Library & Information Science, Jammu University celebrates World Book & Copyright Day

Jammu, April 24: The Department of Library and Information Science, University of Jammu celebrated World Book and Copyright Day on 24th April 2023 to develop the love for reading among young minds.

The department was decorated with posters inspired by books and famous quotes from the authors. The event started with a welcome note from Professor Sangita Gupta, Head of DLIS where she welcomed the entire invited guest to the program.

She addressed the audience and inspired them to become readers and creative thinkers. She also highlighted the importance of this day from the perspectives of the librarians.

She told the audience to believe in themselves. The invited guest and alumni also shared their ideas and experience of the books and the importance of books in transforming lives. The whole session was moderated by Ms. Diksha Sharma, Research Scholar. Around 50 Alumni/Assistant Professors, Faculty members and Scholars attended this event. The program proved to be very informative and inspirational.
