Deputy Commissioner leads inspection team to combat encroachment in Main Market Kishtwar
KISHTWAR, FEBRUARY 16: In continuation to the proactive move of district administration Kishtwar towards reclaiming public spaces, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Devansh Yadav today conducted a comprehensive inspection in the Kishtwar town. The focus of the inspection was on monitoring the progress of the ongoing anti-encroachment drive targeting the Main Bus Stand and Market areas along the National Highway.
Accompanied by authorities from Revenue and the Municipal Council, the Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar underscored the importance of removing illegally installed stalls, reharis, and the unauthorized extension of shops in public spaces.
During the inspection, the Deputy Commissioner issued firm directives to Municipal and Revenue officers, urging them to implement stringent actions. This includes the issuance of challans and notices, accompanied by a stern warning against encroaching on footpaths and roads. The emphasis was on creating a clear and obstruction-free environment for pedestrians and commuters.
In a bid to streamline traffic, auto-rickshaw operators were specifically advised to park only at authorized stands. This measure aims to enhance the flow of traffic and ensure a more organized public space.
Furthermore, street vendors, hawkers, and rehadi walas were encouraged to utilize designated Market and Vendor spaces. The goal is to contribute to a revitalized market landscape, free from congestion and encroachments along footpaths.
Deputy Commissioner expressed optimism that the collective efforts of the administration, coupled with cooperation from stakeholders, would lead to a more orderly and aesthetically pleasing urban environment in Kishtwar.
