Deputy Commissioner Poonch felicitates Taekwondo National Medalists

Khalida Jabeen, Toseef Tahir bring laurel to the district at National Level

POONCH, July 19:   Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Yasin M. Choudhary today felicitated Khalida Jabeen and Toseef Tahir for winning bronze medals for Jammu and Kashmir in the recently concluded 40th Junior National Taekwondo Championship and 66th National Taekwondo School Games.

Khalida Jabeen, the first female from the district to win a national-level medal for Jammu and Kashmir, defeated participants from West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, and Assam to clinch the bronze medal in the Junior National Taekwondo Championship.

Toseef Tahir won his bronze medal by defeating participants from Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh in the National Taekwondo School Games held in Delhi.

The Deputy Commissioner congratulated both medalists and their coach, Rajinder Singh from the Department of Youth Services and Sports, for imparting excellent training to the youth of Poonch in Taekwondo. He also assured every possible help for the development of sports in the district. Mohammad Qasim, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, and Dr. Sarfraz Mir, Chairman of Sir Syed Education Mission Soch India, also congratulated the medal winners.

This achievement is a testament to the talent and hard work of the youth of Poonch and a source of pride for the entire district. The felicitation ceremony serves as an inspiration for young athletes to pursue their dreams and achieve excellence in their chosen field.
