Deputy Commissioner Poonch inaugurates New Staff Quarters at HSS Boys Surankote

Addresses Seminar on NEP 2020

POONCH, February 25: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Inder Jeet, today inaugurated the staff quarters at Boys Higher Secondary School (HSS)  Surankote. A seminar was also organized by the Department of Education and was attended by the school principal, teachers, and staff. The seminar began with the lighting of the traditional lamp followed by a welcome address by Mukhtar Manhas, Principal HSS Boys Surankote.

The newly constructed staff quarters consist of 8 rooms built to provide comfortable and secure accommodation to the school staff. After the inauguration, Inder Jeet appreciated the efforts of the Education Department in providing adequate housing facilities to the staff, which would help to boost their morale and improve the overall quality of education in the school.

Later, a seminar was organized on the theme “NEP 2020: Transforming vision into action.” The seminar aimed to discuss the various aspects of the National Education Policy 2020 and its implementation in the region. The Deputy Commissioner was the chief guest of the seminar, and delivered the keynote address.

In his address, he emphasized the importance of the National Education Policy 2020 and its potential to transform the Indian education system. He also highlighted the need for collaboration among all stakeholders, including teachers, parents, and the government, to ensure the successful implementation of the policy.

The seminar was attended by a large number of Principals, Headmasters, teachers, educationists, and scholars, who shared their views on various aspects of the National Education Policy 2020. The discussions focused on the changes envisaged in the policy, such as the promotion of vocational education, the use of technology in education, and the establishment of multidisciplinary institutions.

Chief Education Officer Poonch in his address said, “I strongly believe that the National Education Policy 2020 has the potential to transform the Indian education system and provide a holistic and comprehensive approach to learning. It is imperative that we implement the policy in its true letter and spirit, to ensure that every child receives a quality education and is equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in today’s globalized world.

The NEP 2020 emphasizes the need for collaboration among all stakeholders, including teachers, parents, and the government, to ensure the successful implementation of the policy. He added.

He further said,”It also promotes the use of technology in education, the establishment of multidisciplinary institutions, and the promotion of vocational education.

Prominent educationists, Amwar Khan, Principal HSS sawjian, Darshan Kumar, Harish Sharma, Tariq Chugtai, Safdar Hussain spoke on the various components of NEP 2020.
