Deputy Commissioner Poonch reviews Tribal Affairs Developmental Progress
POONCH, JANUARY 17: Deputy Commissioner Poonch Vikas Kundal convened a meeting to assess the physical and financial progress achieved by the Tribal Affairs Department, here today. The meeting took place in the conference hall of the DC office, where key updates on different developmental projects were discussed.
The Executive Engineer provided a comprehensive briefing on the status of developmental works, highlighting the total number of projects and their completion status.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of different initiatives, including the Pradhan Mantri Adi Adarsh Gram Yojana (PMAAGY), Sewa Sankalp Yojana (SSY), Cluster Tribal Model Village, Aspirational blocks, infrastructure development plans related to tribal communities etc.
In an effort to ensure effective communication, all Block Development Officers (BDOs) connected virtually to present updates on their respective blocks. The Deputy Commissioner instructed the BDOs to meticulously maintain records of their progress and to prioritize the completion of the Border Area Development Programme (BADP) works.
Additionally, the Deputy Commissioner urged the concerned Executive Engineer to initiate the Panchayati Raj Institution (PRI) works and called for maximum expenditure from the Xen PHE. He also sought detailed information regarding the total number of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) schemes and household connections.
Addressing concerns raised by the BDOs regarding the lack of water, electricity, and toilet facilities in certain schools located in aspirational blocks, the Deputy Commissioner directed them to finalize data on these deficiencies urgently.
The Deputy Commissioner urged all BDOs and the Executive Engineer to expedite the completion of ongoing projects to enhance the living standards of the tribal communities in the district.
The meeting was attended by CPO, DSEO, SE PHE, CMO, DPEO, Xen PHE, PWD, PMGSY and others concerned.

Udhampur: DLTC reviews proposed scale of finance for Agriculture, allied sectors for 2025-26
UDHAMPUR, JANUARY 17: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Saloni Rai today chaired a meeting of officers to review and approve the proposed Scale of Finance for Agriculture and allied sectors for the financial year 2025-26.
The meeting witnessed detailed deliberations on various aspects of the proposed Scale of Finance, aligning with the cost of cultivation across multiple sectors, including Kisan Credit Card, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries, Sericulture and Floriculture activities in District Udhampur.
During the meeting, the DC underscored the importance of enhancing the Scale of Finance, stating that setting appropriate financial parameters for agricultural and allied activities would enable farmers to access credit facilities seamlessly.
She emphasised the need for close coordination among all stakeholders to ensure the timely and adequate flow of credit to farmers, thereby boosting agricultural productivity and income.
