Deputy Commissioner Reasi reviews preparations for Digital Week Celebrations

REASI, AUGUST 29: Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Babila Rakwal today took a comprehensive review of the preparations for the forthcoming Digital Week celebrations scheduled to take place from August 31st to September 6th, 2023.

This event, being observed across Jammu and Kashmir, aims to raise awareness about the various services available online to the public.During the discussions surrounding the Digital Week activities, the Deputy Commissioner exhorted the district officers to sensitize the public regarding various services provided by their departments online and to realize the government objective of good governance.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that the Digital Week celebration will offer an opportunity to educate citizens about the various online services available, such as “Aap Ki Zameen Aap Ki Nigrani,” “e-UNNAT,” and “DigiLocker.” DC suggested that RDD can play a special role in spreading awareness regarding e- services through IEC activities at panchayat level and block level.

The PRIs may also be involved in these activities for greater participation and awareness of the public.Underscoring the positive impact of e-services on the general public and the transparency they bring to government operations, the Deputy Commissioner instructed the District Officers to establish departmental stalls during the Digital Week celebrations.

These stalls will play a pivotal role in raising awareness among the masses about the range of online services accessible to them.The forthcoming Digital Week is anticipated to serve as a crucial platform for fostering public engagement with digital services and promoting an informed and digitally empowered society.The meeting was attended by ADC Abdual Star, ACD Reasi, ACR Reasi and all district /sectoral officers.
