Devotees flock to Baba Baidyanath temple on second Monday of Shravan
Deoghar (Jharkhand) [India], July 29 (ANI): A huge number of devotees flocked to the Deoghar Shravani mela on the second Monday of the month of Shravan to offer prayers to Baba Baidyanath on the auspicious day.
“A huge crowd of devotees have queued up to offer prayers on the second Monday of the month of Sawan. We think a huge number of devotees will be able to perform Jalarpan successfully on the second Monday of saavan,” Deoghar Deputy Commissioner Vishal Sagar said speaking to ANI.
The Deputy Commissioner said that all arrangements are in place and the district administration expects all devotees to have a fulfilling experience.
“Our arrangements are intact, a large number of police forces are present at all the places. Here in the Mela control room, we are monitoring all the feeds that are coming to us from different areas. We can monitor any area from the cameras. Through wireless communication, we can give directions and instructions immediately…We hope that all devotees have a good experience while offering Jalarpan on the second Monday of saavan,” Sagar said.
One of the priests who came to offer prayers at Deoghar said, “Today is Monday, which is a special day for Baba Baidyanath. Today all our wishes get fulfilled if we offer water to Baba. The Puja can only performed through devotion. The more devoted we are the more it pleases Baba.”
Meanwhile, Jalabhishek and Bhasma Aarti was performed at the Mahakaleshwar Temple at Madhya Pradesh’s Ujjain on the second Monday of the holy month of ‘Saavan’. Devotees were also seen offering prayers at Koteshwar Temple in Gwalior.
In Varanasi, devotees reached Kashi Vishwanath Temple amid heightened security to offer prayers to Baba Vishwanath. Kanwariyas also reached the Shiva temple located at the Shiva Chowk in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar, Shiva Mandir in Gorakhpur, Mankameshwar temple in Prayagraj, Nageshwar Nath Temple in Ayodhya to offer prayers and perform Jalabhishek to lord Shiva.
In Delhi, devotees offered prayers at Gauri Shankar Temple in Chandni Chowk. In Mumbai, devotees offered prayers at Babulnath Temple, while in Haridwar people were seen taking a holy dip in the Ganga and the Saryu river, in Ayodhya on the second Monday of ‘saavan’.
A large number of devotees also offered prayers at Jharkhand Mahadev Temple in Jaipur, and the Shiva Mandir in Patna on the second Monday of Sharavan.
