Dharmarth Trust concludes major facelift, restoration works of Rani Samadhis in Jammu

Committed to preserve cultural heritage and Dogra legacy of J&K: Martand Singh

JAMMU: The Jammu and Kashmir Dharmarth Trust (JKDT) has successfully completed the restoration and renovation works at the historic Rani Samadhis Complex, a landmark in Jammu city. The comprehensive restoration and renovation efforts were aimed to restore the heritage complex and provide a major facelift in terms of beauty and grandeur. The complex consists of a samadhis of Royal Dogra Maharanis of erstwhile J&K State including Samadhi of Maharani Tara Devi, wife of Maharaja Hari Singh Ji and mother of Dr. Karan Singh along with an ancient ShivJi Temple.

Over the past year, Rk. Martand Singh, Trustee JKDT personally monitored the restoration and renovation project conducting regular site visits and review meetings to ensure timely completion and quality work. The renovation works included beautification, structural improvements, reinforcements, drainage systems, paintwork and aesthetic enhancements to the surroundings of the Samadhis.

Speaking on the completion of project, Martand Singh emphasized the critical role of JKDT in preserving such heritage in keeping the region’s history alive. He said that the Rani Samadhi is more than just a historical structure and tribute to the Dogra Maharanis —it is a reminder of our royal past and the cultural richness that defines Jammu. He added that by restoring it, we not only honor our ancestors but also inspire future generations to take pride in their heritage and JKDT will continue to protect and preserve our cultural treasures, ensuring they remain a source of inspiration for the generations to come.
