Dharmarth Trust pays floral tributes to Maharaja Hari Singh Ji on his Death Anniversary

Jammu, April 26: Jammu & Kashmir Dharmarth Trust today paid rich floral tributes to Maharaja Hari Singh Ji, the last Dogra ruler of the erstwhile princely state of Jammu and Kashmir, on his death anniversary. In this regard, a solemn Hawan was organized at the historic Shree Raghunath Ji Temple in Jammu to mark the occasion.

Devotees, priests, and members of the Trust participated in the spiritual observance, offering prayers for the Great Maharaja. After the Hawan, Prasad was distributed among the devotees present at the temple.

Dr. P.S. Pathania, President of J&K Dharmarth Trust, highlighted the immense contributions of Maharaja Hari Singh Ji in the socio-political and religious spheres of the region. He remembered the Great Maharaja as a visionary ruler who laid the foundation for progressive governance and equitable reforms.

“Maharaja Hari Singh Ji was not only a great administrator but also a social reformer. His efforts in introducing compulsory education, abolishing untouchability, and modernizing the justice system were ahead of his time,” he said.

Ashok Kumar Sharma (IPS Retd), Secretary of the Trust, emphasized the Maharaja’s commitment to secular values and good governance, which left a lasting legacy in the state. He said that the Dharmarth Trust, founded by the Dogra rulers to protect and preserve temples and religious heritage, continues to uphold the ideals of service and devotion, as envisioned by Maharaja Hari Singh Ji.

Several prominent citizens, devotees, and religious scholars were present during the ceremony and paid homage to the late ruler, acknowledging his significant role in shaping the cultural and historical identity of Jammu and Kashmir.

The event concluded with a collective prayer for peace and harmony in the region, resonating the timeless legacy of Maharaja Hari Singh Ji.
