DHEW organises special gram sabha at Udhampur
UDHAMPUR, JANUARY 22: The District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW), in collaboration with One Stop Centre (OSC) Udhampur, organised a pledge ceremony and a special gram sabha at the conference hall of DPO Poshan Udhampur today.
The pledge ceremony aimed to emphasise the education of the girl child and to ensure that girls are born, loved and nurtured to become equal and empowered citizens of the country.
Further, the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao programme was organised in different panchayats of District Udhampur, namely Kashirah, Upper Kawa, Sundrani and Muttal, where Mamta Kits were distributed to the newborn babies and the locals were made aware of the various women-centric schemes implemented by the government.
All these programmes were organised with a focus on Corporate Social Responsibility and child protection and highlighted the importance of skill development among girls. The participants were requested to spread the message of BBBP. The special sabha drew attention to saving, protecting, nurturing, and educating the girl child by ensuring the enforcement of the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PC & PNDT) Act in the district.
In addition to these activities, the DHEW staff, along with the OSC staff, also pasted stickers with the logo and message of BBBP on the walls of different government offices of District Udhampur on January 22, 2024.
This whole programme was organised under the guidance of the Deputy Commissioner (Chairman of BBBP scheme) Udhampur.
