Afterwards, a Rally of the ANMT students was taken out from the Hospital .The Rally was flagged off by Director Health Services, Dr. Rakesh Magotra. The students displayed handbills and banners highlighting the negative impact of Tobacco products on human health and the way Tobacco Industry try to ensnare the youth. “We must be aware of the tactics employed by the industry and make efforts to counter their actions. The Industry is actively advertising and using attractive displays at children’s eye level, near toys, sweets and sugary drinks, using flavours that appeal to children in both smoking and smokeless types of Tobacco.

It is also using popular social media handles and influencers to promote tobacco and vaping products. Promotion and sponsorship of events where youth participate is also another ploy employed by the Tobacco Industry to influence the youth to take up the habit.”

The Health Department appealed to the people to stop using Tobacco to save the future of the country. The Department is offering Tobacco Cessation services in all its District Hospitals to help people quit.
