“Didi Ki Rasoi” SHG run canteen opened in DC Office Complex Poonch
Initiative aims to empower women Self-Help Groups by providing Employment opportunities: DC
POONCH, MAY 30: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Yasin M. Choudhary, inaugurated a new canteen called “Didi Ki Rasoi” in the premises of the Deputy Commissioner Office Poonch.
The eatery, being run by Women Self Help Group Members, will serve a variety of affordable, home-cooked meals to office staff, visitors, and the general public.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Tahir Mustafa Malik, Chief Planning Officer Poonch, Maqsood Ahmed, Manager Social Dev and Infrastructure under DAY-NULM Ishtiaq Ahmed, several dignitaries, including government officials, members of the self-help groups.
The canteen is a unique initiative aimed at providing employment opportunities to the self-help group members in the region.
Speaking after the inauguration, the Deputy Commissioner appreciated the initiative and highlighted the importance of empowering women in the region. He commended Project Officer Jaffar Abass Bhatt for his efforts and urged the local community to support the project by patronizing the canteen.
Project Officer, District Urban Dev. Agency Poonch, Jaffar Abass Batt said that this is First “Didi Ki Rasoi Canteen” launched under DAY-NULUM by Koser Self-Help Group in JK UT.“
He said that the aim is to provide them with a platform to earn a livelihood.
The Project Officer expressed his gratitude towards the Deputy Commissioner for his support and said that the canteen would provide a sustainable source of income for the self-help group candidates.
