DIET Kishtwar conducts three-Day Workshop for Librarians, Junior Librarians
KISHTWAR, SEPTEMBER 10: District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) Kishtwar conducted a three-day workshop for librarians, Junior Librarians and Library Assistants here on its campus. As many as 42 officials were actively engaged in the workshop to promote reading, thinking and community discussions and guarantee free library access to all students and teacher community.
The three day workshop was inaugurated by Sr. Lecturer DIET Kishtwar Riaz Ahmed Butt also the wing Head “Planning and Management” in presence of senior Lecturers R.A Giri, F.A Giri, Humaira Ayub and the other resource persons of DIET Kishtwar.
The main objective of imparting training to librarians/ junior librarians was to make them aware that its workforce needs to be skilled, competent and confident because they are subject to continual change, especially in today’s digital information environment in which libraries operate mean that we need to be flexible, agile and continually evolving. The trainees were sensitized to embrace change, and its workforce was motivated to work hard and develop its professional and technical skills so that modern day requirements may be met accordingly.
The workshop ended with high hopes as the trainees were fully satisfied with the sessions based on modern day need and requirement. The sole motive of the said training programme was to equip them with the essential skills which they need to perform and fulfill their roles.
