DIG DKR reviews Disaster response preparedness in Doda, Kishtwar & Ramban districts in view of the inclement weather
RAMBAN, MARCH 02: In view of the inclement weather, heavy rainfall, snowfall in the three districts of Doda, Kishtwar & Ramban, Shridhar Patil, DIG DKR Range held a meeting with all SSPs, Supervisory Officers, IC SDRF units and IC PCRs of the range regarding Disaster response preparedness.
Emphasizing proactive measures, the DIG urged all the officers to ensure their personal intervention and to keep their men and available sources in a state of readiness to tackle any situation arising from inclement weather conditions and ensure prompt action. He also directed all the officers to keep in close contact with other stakeholders and various departments including PWD, Medical Department, Beacon, NHAI etc. to mitigate potential disruptions caused by heavy rains and snowfall.
During the meeting, the DIG directed officers and control rooms to maintain and share the emergency helpline numbers of all the police officers. Further, I/C PCRs were directed that all the distressed calls received be shared with the territorial officers immediately for quick response. Directions were also passed that public announcements be ensured regarding avoiding movement towards vulnerable areas.
