DIPR Centre Udhampur staff plant saplings of Pongamia piñata at Devika Ghat

UDHAMPUR, July 31: The staff of Department of Information and Public Relations, Udhampur Centre along with a local NGO conducted a plantation drive here on the Banks of Devika Ghat, here today.

The DIPR staff led by District Information Officer Rajinder Kumar Digra planted Saplings of Indian Beech tree (Pongamia Pinata), locally known as “Sukh Chain” or the tree of tranquility and happiness here at Devika Ghat Near open Air theatre Udhampur.

While interacting with participants, the DIO said “Planting a tree helps us connect with nature” while quoting that Trees and forests play an essential role in mitigating the impact of climate change.  

  President Karam Kartey Chlo, Vikas Kumar, besides officials of the Information department including Amit Kumar, Senior Cultural Assistant, Amit Mehra & Pawan Kumar, Mohit Singh and Bablu ji were present on the occasion.
