DIPR Ramban Centre organises Symposium on hazards of Drug Abuse in PHMHS
RAMBAN, MAY 24: The Department of Information & Public Relations Ramban, in collaboration with Social Welfare department, on Wednesday organized a Symposium on drug de-addiction and drug abuse menace in society here in the Paryas Hemkrish Model High School(PHMHS) Maitra Govindpura.
District Social Welfare Officer, Rahul Gupta was the Chief Guest. Principal of the host school S .K. Atri and officials from the Information department, teachers besides a large number of students attended the program.
The DSWO urged the participants to engage themselves in co–curricular activities and stay away from all means of addiction and drug abuse.
He deliberated upon the importance of holding such awareness programmes as must to create awareness on harmful effects of drug addiction on the individual and the society at large.
The DSWO informed that the District Administration Ramban organized a series of awareness events like rallies, cultural programmes, debates, symposiums, painting and essay writing competitions etc. which witnessed huge participation of officers, officials, members of civil society, social workers, PRIs, and especially youth students under the aegis of Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mussarat Islam.
He called upon parents to play their role and keep check on their children and counsel them regularly to stay away from drug use.
A pledge was also administered to the participants under Nasha Mukt Bharat and Say No to Drugs.
The program concluded with the vote of thanks by Principal S.K Atri. She thanked the Information and Social Welfare department for organizing such an awareness programme in the school.
Later, commendation certificates were also distributed among the students who participated and outshined in the symposium.
