Director Agriculture conducts extensive tour of Anantnag
Inaugurates CHC, low cost polygreen houses & other components under HADP
SRINAGAR, JANUARY 31: The Director Agriculture Kashmir, Chowdhury Mohammad Iqbal today conducted an extensive tour of Anantnag District and inspected/reviewed the status of various under implementation works at Lavender Farm Sirhama.
Holding interactive meetings with the officers, Director Agriculture asked them to strictly follow the guidelines for the implementation of different works. He asked them to speed up the process of implementation of different under implementation works under Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) and other centrally sponsored schemes so that they could be dedicated to the farmers.
Director Agriculture inaugurated two low cost polygreen houses at Mohanpora Anantnag and a Custom Hiring Centre (CHC) at Ramhal Poshkreeri. He also visited some under-construction hi-tech polygreen houses under HADP at Mattan Anantnag.
Speaking on the occasion Director Agriculture highlighted the importance of projects under HADP. He asked the farmers to come forward and take benefits from all the 29 projects of HADP under implementation in agriculture and allied sectors. He impressed upon the concerned officers to increase the awareness about the HADP among the farmers of Kashmir division.
Iqbal said in the coming days the projects under HADP are going to revolutionize the agriculture sector in the UT of J&K. He underlined the need that young educated farmers and departments should work in close coordination for the overall development of the rural economy.
Chief Agriculture Officer Anantnag, Aijaz Hussain Dar and other officers of the department were present on the occasion.
