Director Health Services Jammu visits Samba, Kathua districts, reviews medical care arrangements for Shri Amarnath ji Yatra- 2023

JAMMU, JUNE 28: Director Health Services Jammu Dr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma, along with Dy. Director Health Services Jammu Dr. Sanjay Sharma and Nodal officer NCD Dr. Vijay Sharma, on Wednesday visited Medical Aid Centres of district Samba and Kathua enroute Amarnath Ji Yatra, to oversee the preparedness and medical facilities made available for pilgrims.

In district Samba, the DHSJ visited Medical Aid Centres Chichi Mata Mandir and Nonath Ashram, Ghagwal. 

CMO Samba Dr. Vidhi Bhatial gave a detailed resume of health facilities provided by the health staff deployed at the sites for the Yatra. 

The DHSJ reviewed stocks of the medicines, equipment and availability of ambulances  at the sites.  He directed the Officers and  Officials present at the sites to ensure that the pilgrims are provided with the best healthcare facilities.

In district Kathua, the DHSJ visited the Medical Aid Centre Chhan Arorian and Rajbagh  Block Hiranagar  and Lakhanpur. At Chhan Arorian and Rajbagh, the DHSJ inspected availability of drugs, equipment and round the clock facility of medical teams for the visiting pilgrims. The DHSJ also visited the langer site at Chhan Arorian to ensure the availability of hygienic food to be provided to yatris.

Later, At Lakhanpur base camp-the entry point of Jammu & Kashmir, the DHSJ took a detailed review of necessary arrangements including signages needed for smooth medical facilities to the yatris.   He visited Amarnath Yatra Reception Centre and Medical Aid Centre.  At the reception centre, he inspected the OPD stalls, interacted with the staff there and enquired about the status of logistics. At the Medical Aid Centre, DHS took stock of availability of medicine, ambulances and beds. DHS issued instructions to CMO Kathua to keep round the clock services available during the yatra and directed the staff present to work with zeal and dedication.
