Director Horticulture interacts with farmers at panchayat Lower Badyal Brahmana
JAMMU, April 26: To make farming community of Jammu Province aware about the newly launched Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP), the Director Horticulture Jammu, Ram Savak today chaired the Kissan Sampark Abhiyan Camp at panchayat Lower Badyal Brahmana of R.S Pura Block.
The programme was attended by Sarpanch of the panchayat, Kanta Sharma; Chief Horticulture Officer Jammu Ashwani Sharma; DL Subject Matter Specialist , Sandeep Gupta; Visiting Officer, Arun Kumar; HDO, Dheeraj Sharma; Sectoral officers of Agriculture and Allied sectors, and PRI members, besides a large number of farmers, especially women.

The Director interacted with the farmers and briefed them about the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme. He discussed in detail the schemes covered under HADP as well as other central and UT sponsored schemes and the incentives / assistance being provided for the welfare of the farming community under these schemes. During the programme, the chair sensitized the gathering about the main components of the programme viz: DAKSH- Learning Management System related to skill development, SATHI- Dashboard to apply online for different Govt. schemes, etc.

Further, videos related to HADP were also shown to the gathering to acquaint them with the benefits of the programme. The Director Horticulture urged farmers to come forward for availing incentives under the programme and also sought intervention of the farming community as well as PRI members for the workable reforms for the upliftment of the economic status of the nation and UT in particular.

Earlier, Chief Horticulture Officer Jammu welcomed the Director Horticulture Jammu and apprised him about Horticultural developmental schemes being implemented in district Jammu.
