Director Ministry of Tribal Affairs participates in Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra at Mughal Maidan  

Emphasises Last Mile Delivery, Citizen Participation

KISHTWAR, January 19: Director Ministry of Tribal Affairs, GoI, (Prabhari Officer) Sangeeta Gupta today participated in the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra at TRC Mughal Maidan, District Kishtwar.

Among others present were SDM Chatroo  Shokat Hayat Mattoo, ACD Kishtwar Manoj Kumar, LDM Pankaj Badani, DIO Kishtwar Dr Kuldeep Kumar,ExEn Jal Shakti Sunil Sharma ,BDO Hitesh Kumar, BMO Dr Saima Agoo besides prominent personalities of the area.

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation of more than 200 people.

Director, Sangeeta  Gupta, along with all the participants, took the pledge for Viksit Bharat. Under the Meri Kahani Meri Zubani initiative, beneficiaries of various Central Government Schemes shared their experiences and success stories.

During the event, a recorded video message of the Prime Minister and a film on objectives of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra was also screened.

The Director Ministry of Tribal Affairs distributed certificates and benefits to beneficiaries of PM Ayushman Bharat among other schemes.

Later, she inspected the stalls put up by the government departments to spread awareness and attain saturation about the major government schemes.

Sangeeta Gupta also addressed the participants and spoke about the Prime Minister’s vision of Viksit Bharat. She urged the citizens to participate in the ongoing Yatra with full vigour. She also spoke on the saturation approach in the implementation of Government schemes and last mile delivery.

Director Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Dr. Sangeeta Gupta, delivered a comprehensive overview of different tribal welfare initiatives during her address. She highlighted the Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS), focusing on providing quality education to Scheduled Tribe students in remote areas.

“Another key initiative, the Pradhan Mantri Adi Adarsh Gram Yojna (PMAAGY), aims to enhance basic infrastructure in villages with a significant tribal population,” she added.

Dr. Gupta highlighted the Pre-Matric and Post-Matric Scholarship Schemes, offering financial assistance to ST students in classes IX and X and beyond. She delved into projects in Education, Health, and Livelihood, such as the Pradhan Mantri Jan Jatiya Vikas Mission (PMJVM), striving for livelihood-driven tribal development through technology, credit, and improved marketing access and the Forest Rights Act among others.

 The Director appreciated the Kishtwar administration for organising the successful Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra across the district Kishtwar.

She termed the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra as an opportunity to penetrate the flagship schemes at the gram panchayats for maximum saturation of the schemes.
