District Administration, JK Tourism, Indian Army, BRO come together to celebrate Baisakhi Utsav in Paddar
KISHTWAR, April 13: The Baisakhi Utsav celebration was today kicked off with multifarious activities in Paddar by District Administration Kishtwar in collaboration with JK Tourism, Indian Army & BRO.
The event was graced by the august presence of Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Devansh Yadav, ADC, Inderjeet Singh Parihar, ASP, Rajinder Singh, ACR Varunjeet Singh Charak, SDM Paddar Dr Rishi Kumar Sharma along with Tehsildar Atholi Satish Kumar, BDO Nagseni Anjil Singh, BDO Dachhan Ravi Kumar, Officers of the Indian Army Lt Col 17 RR Anshuman Patil, 2 OC BRO besides District and sectoral officers besides PRIs & Locals.
The celebration featured a range of activities, including River Rafting, Wrestling (Dangal), Beach Volley Ball, Rapling & Zip line near the river bank of Gosi, Paddar.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, in the presence of Sarpanch Gulabgarh, DYSSO Kishtwar Kharati Lal, inaugurated the maiden Day-Night Cricket competition at the prestigious Sports Stadium of Gulabgarh. In all 7 local teams will lock their horns in the tournament. The finale of tournament will be held tomorrow on 14th April 2023.
The local cuisine stalls, showcasing the local and traditional taste of Paddar, were also put up by NRLM SHG members which were inspected by Deputy Commissioner and other dignitaries and officers during the event.
Pertinent to mention that on April 14th, the Bikers of CRPF & Bike club Group, Jammu will take the Bike Rally across the cliff Hanger (Asia,s 2nd hazardous Road) on the Galhar-Sansari axis via Sohal and Tiyari, starting from Gulabgarh in the morning. The Bullet Bike rally from Jammu will carry Nasha Mukht message en-route.
In addition to these activities, the Baisakhi Utsav celebration also featured a musical programme that saw performance of local artists and musicians. The performances included traditional folk songs and dances, which were received with much enthusiasm by the audience.
The participation of the Indian Army and BRO added to the festive spirit of the event and their involvement was greatly appreciated by the people of Paddar and Kishtwar. The event also provided an opportunity for the Indian Army and BRO to interact with the locals and learn more about their customs and traditions.
