District Administration Poonch facilitates first onboarding of Pecannut Grower on Amazon

POONCH, FEBRUARY 18: The District Administration Poonch, in collaboration with the District Industries Centre (DIC), has successfully facilitated the onboarding of the first seller of Pecannut growers from Poonch on the Amazon platform . This landmark initiative occurred under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal.


This effort is part of the “One District, One Product” program, aimed at promoting local products through district export action plans. The successful registration of the first Pecannut grower on Amazon signifies a pivotal step in enhancing the visibility and market reach of local products, both nationally and internationally.


Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal congratulated Pecannut grower Harpal Singh from Dara Dullian Poonch. He emphasized the importance of establishing a strategic framework designed to improve the standards and production levels of local products. “Our focus is to ensure that local products reach wider markets, providing the necessary resources and facilities to local exporters to enhance their growth,” he stated.


This initiative reflects the commitment of the District Administration to promote local agriculture and enhance the livelihoods of farmers in the Poonch region. The District Export Promotion Committee aims to continue supporting local growers, ensuring they have the tools and resources needed for success in the competitive export market.
