District Administration Rajouri organises series of events to mark Rajouri Day Celebration

RAJOURI, APRIL 12: A series of vibrant and impactful events were organized here today as part of the Rajouri Day Celebration, drawing enthusiastic participation from all sections of society.

In a significant initiative to combat drug abuse, Deputy Commissioner  Abhishek Sharma, flagged off a special vehicle to spread awareness under the Nasha Mukht Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan. The initiative aims to sensitize the public, especially youth about the perils of substance abuse and promote a healthy lifestyle.

Adding a cultural dimension to the celebrations, an impactful play was staged by the renowned Rangmanch Theatre Group at Raina Auditorium, highlighting the historical and cultural significance of Rajouri and showcasing its rich heritage.

The much-anticipated Rajouri Got Talent competition reached its grand finale at the Sports Stadium, where talented participants from across the district showcased their artistic prowess. Winners of the event were felicitated by the District Administration for their exemplary performances.

The Deputy Commissioner also inspected the departmental stalls put up at the venue, showcasing the achievements and services of different government departments aimed at enhancing citizen awareness and outreach.

A special highlight of the day was the arrival of the Motorbike Rally (Biking Expedition) organized by Asphalt Adventurers in collaboration with Rotary Club Rajouri Grand. The rally, flagged off from Jammu by Transport Commissioner Vishesh Pal Mahajan, was received with great enthusiasm at the Sports Stadium Kheora. The expedition sought to spread messages on Road Safety and Drug-Free Jammu and Kashmir.

In another major public welfare initiative, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Superspeciality Hospital, in association with Rotary Club Grand Rajouri and under the aegis of District Administration, organized a free health check-up camp at the Sports Stadium.

Renowned doctors including Dr. Bhanu Partap Singh, Dr. Mohammad Shamim, and Dr. Vishav Dev Singh Dadwal from the hospital rendered their services, benefiting hundreds of citizens who availed themselves of medical consultations and diagnostics.

A huge footfall of the general public was witnessed at the Trade Fair and Medical Camp, reflecting the community’s active participation in the celebration and outreach events.
