District Administration Samba organizes Mock Drill on Flood Management
SAMBA, JULY 17: Under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma, the District Administration of Samba, in collaboration with the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), organized a comprehensive mock drill at Barjani Talab, Bari Brahmana. The exercise aimed to enhance disaster preparedness and response, with a particular focus on flood management.
The mock drill showcased various techniques for rescuing trapped individuals, including the preparation and use of rescue boats, rescuing multiple persons using boats, pre-hospital treatment (PHT), cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), deep diving, river crossing, and the use of floating devices.
A large number of local residents, students, and volunteers attended the event, witnessing firsthand the critical skills and procedures necessary for effective disaster response.
Prominent attendees included ADC Samba Suresh Sharma, SDM, ACD, SDPO, and other district and sectoral officers. In his address, ADC Samba expressed gratitude to the NDRF, SDRF, security forces, and all stakeholders involved in the exercise for their dedication and efforts in enhancing the district’s disaster management capabilities.
