District Administration Udhampur initiates establishment of drugs de-addiction rehabilitation centre

UDHAMPUR, JULY 11: The Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Saloni Rai along with Chief Medical Officer Dr. Anil Manhas and District Social Welfare Officer Kanika Gupta, conducted a site visit at the Government Medical College Udhampur today to identify a location for establishing a drugs de-addiction rehabilitation centre in the district.


During the visit, the District Social Welfare Officer provided the Deputy Commissioner with a detailed overview of the planned operation of the rehabilitation centre. The DC instructed the concerned authorities to expedite the establishment process to ensure timely support for those affected by drug addiction.


She assured that the District Administration would provide all possible support to affected individuals, assisting them in reintegrating into society by extending the benefits of various government schemes/ programmes. She emphasized that eliminating the drug menace from society is a top priority for the government.


Later, the Deputy Commissioner also conducted surprise inspection of ALC Office, One Stop Centre for Women, District Hub for Empowerment of Women and District Program Office, Mission Poshan Udhampur.
