Speaking on the occasion ,JKPCC Working President Raman Bhalla today said that the BJP has lost the moral right to go to Jammu people after betrayal after betrayal. Former Minister took a dig at BJP over deceits and a failed government in order to highlight the failures and performance of the Modi Government on various fronts, including economy, foreign policy, communal harmony, inflation, farmers’ income, national security, welfare for the Scheduled castes, Scheduled tribes, and other backward classes.
Bhalla alleged nine years of BJP rule has made the J&K miserable. The people of J&K have only seen the scene of devastation in nine years. The BJP government has thrown J&K into devastation. He said that “deteriorating economic condition and rising unemployment” have become the most pressing problems before the nation.Bhalla said it is time for us to stand in the name of humanity against ideas of divisiveness and nefarious designs of perpetuating identity-based hatred by destructive forces in order to save this nation. Our deteriorating economic condition and rising unemployment have become the most pressing problems before J&K. Anti-people policies of the government have made the everyday life of common citizen miserable,” he said.
Coming down heavily on BJP leadership for indulging into misinformation campaign against Congress, Bhalla pointed out that “Who provided basic facilities to the people since Independence? Who raised such a vast infrastructure like Hospitals, Government buildings? Who laid Rail lines? Which party ensured Air Services across the country and abroad? Who brought Green Revolution in the Country? Who brought IT revolution? It is all due to the concerted efforts of great leaders like Prime Ministers Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru, Rajiv Gandhi, Indira Gandhi, Manmohan Singh that India is on the path of prosperity.””What BJP is doing? It is just inaugurating the mega projects which were built and completed by Congress party,” pointed out Bhalla and further added that “In Jammu and Kashmir also we initiated big infrastructure projects in J&K. You see Hospitals, road connectivity, schools, Degree Colleges, University campuses, Medical Colleges, widening of Jammu-Srinagar national highway, numerous drinking water supply schemes, power supply to all almost every village and remote belt of the state. It is not BJP but tireless efforts of Congress party that the people of the J&K are on the path of development and prosperity. “
Yogesh Sawhney speaking on the ocassion said Jammu people are now realizing their mistake committed in 2014 and 2019 as these people who were sent by the voters to raise their voice remained unheard for nine long years. It is hoped that the people of Jammu will surely correct the past mistake and reject such opportunists and exploiters and show them their place in the future elections. It seems they have no time and commitment for the welfare of the people & country, and that electioneering, not governance is a priority for the NDA Government at the Centre.Questioning the NDA Govt Sawhney said, ” Scores of Army and security jawans have been martyred on the borders and in terrorist violence, our innocent civilians have lost lives on the borders and Prime Minister and the BJP Government try to console the people of J&K by calling them ‘brave’ and showing lip sympathy”, said Sawhney adding that where are those tall claims of BJP leadership which it used to make before coming to power at the Centre.
Manmohan Singh alleged that the ruling government’s promise of ‘achche din’ (good days) was meant only for themselves or a selected group of industrialists and capitals whose wealth had increased.“Unemployment is high and has broken record of four decades while inflation is rising especially of essential commodities, petrol-diesel prices are historic high and Rupee against Dollar is historic low, the foreign reserve is also dipping so the country is suffering from the economic crisis,” said Singh. He said that If BJP has not been able to fulfill promises in nine years then what are they going to do now. “There is anger among people. BJP has played with the sentiments of the people who voted them to power. People are not happy with their policies and the government has proved to be a failure. We have taken to the streets against governance deficit, lack of development and failure of the government to deliver on the promises made to the people of the Jammu and Kashmir,” Singh said.
Ved Mahajan in his address said that BJP climbed political ladder raising voice against discrimination with people of this region. They ended up doing same disparity with the people who voted them to power to rule the country. “Right of our youth on government jobs has been snatched and given to outsiders despite knowing how our youth get education in troubling times of militancy and frequent border disturbance in Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.
