District Cooperative Development Committee meeting held in Poonch
POONCH, JULY 19: The District Cooperative Development Committee (DCDC) convened a meeting today at the DC Office Conference Hall, Poonch. The meeting was chaired by the Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Yasin M. Choudhary and convened by the Deputy Registrar Cooperatives, Poonch, Vishal Deep Chandan. All members of the DCDC attended to review and discuss new initiatives under the Cooperative Department in District Poonch.
During the meeting, Deputy Registrar cooperatives presented a comprehensive PowerPoint presentation showcasing the entire profile of the district along with agenda points and actions taken on them. He apprised the Deputy Commissioner about the progress achieved with respect to the implementation of the World’s Largest Grain Storage Plan in Cooperative Sector.
Furthermore, he provided updates on several ongoing schemes of the department, including Food Processing Units, Computerization of PACS, PACS as Common Service Centres, converting PACS to PMSKS, PACS as Jan Aushadhi Kendras, and other Government of India initiatives. The Deputy Registrar also gave a detailed account of the impressive performance achieved in Capex works completed and ongoing works.
Deputy Commissioner sought recommendations and feedback from other allied departments to further strengthen the Cooperative Department and assured cooperation and support to the department. He directed other allied departments to work in convergence mode with the Cooperative Department.
He directed the Agriculture Department to identify areas where there are no seed retailers and issue seed retailer licenses to the PACS having eligible candidates. He also directed the Animal Husbandry Department to provide support to the Dairy Cooperative, which has submitted a Detailed Project Report (DPR) under the scheme for Food Processing Units. Furthermore, the Deputy Commissioner deliberated upon the interlinkage of various dairy cooperatives in the district with the milk plants being established in block Mendhar to ensure optimum use of resources.
The meeting was attended by District/Sectoral Officers of Agriculture and allied departments, Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Branch Manager JCC Bank, Poonch branch, Assistant Registrar Cooperatives Societies, among others.
