District Employment and Counselling Centre Ramban organizes one day Job Fair

RAMBAN, AUGUST 08: The District Employment and Counselling Centre (DECC) cum Model Career Centre in Ramban organized a job fair, attracting hundreds of job seekers for vacancies in sectors such as Civil, Health, Insurance, Hotels, Mechanical and Banking.

Assistant Director Employment Ramban, Amit Kumar, presided over the event, emphasizing the Employment Department’s role in tackling unemployment and connecting youth with potential employers. He encouraged participating companies to maximize youth engagement and create career opportunities.

The event also featured a Counselling and Guidance session. The AD highlighted the department’s efforts to link job seekers with employers, while Career Counseling Officer, Aamir Hassan, discussed the JK Employment Portal and various self-employment schemes. Young Professional, Lovepreet Singh explained the National Career Service and its offerings.

The job fair saw over 200 job seekers applying for more than 400 vacancies.

Nine employers, including LIC, Kapahi Contracts Pvt Ltd, and Upper Hills Restaurant, participated, with 60 applicants shortlisted and two receiving on-the-spot appointment letters. Additionally, 200 candidates registered with the employment department during the event.
