District Hub for Empowerment of Women, Mission Shakti organized a program for Beti Bachao Beti Padhao

Chuchot & Khaltse, October 9, 2024 : In honor of International Girl Child Day, the District Hub for Empowerment of Women, Mission Shakti organized a “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” program at the Primary Health Center (PHC) in Chuchot and the Community Health Center (CHC) in Khaltse.

The event saw participation from doctors, hospital staff, and pregnant mothers, highlighting the importance of gender equity in our communities.


The program featured a keynote address by Gender Specialist Ms. Kunzang Angmo, who emphasized the significance of celebrating girl children and fostering gender sensitization.

She engaged the audience with insights on the societal benefits of empowering girls.


Additionally, Mr. Thinles Gyurmed, a specialist in financial literacy, presented an overview of the Mission Shakti schemes, explaining how these initiatives can support and enhance women’s financial independence.

Ms. Diskit Ladol, District Coordinator, also expressed gratitude to the hospital representatives for their invaluable support.

The Block Medical Officer (BMO) praised the initiative and encouraged continued efforts in hosting similar events to promote awareness and support for women and girls in the district. The event culminated in a cake-cutting ceremony and the distribution of care kits to the pregnant mothers in attendance, symbolizing a commitment to the health and well-being of both mothers and their children.
