District Legal Services Authority observes World Biodiversity Day at Islamia Public School in Leh

Leh, May 22, 2024: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA),Leh observed World Biodiversity Day at Islamia Public School, Leh today on May 22. 

The programme was attended by Deputy Chief, Legal Aid Defence Counsel, Nema Stanzin, Principal, Islamia Public School, teachers, students, DLSA staff, and Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs). 

Speakers on the occasion were interns of DLSA, Leh, Stanzin Nedon and Malika Aziz. The speakers presented a powerpoint presentation on the importance of biodiversity, with a particular emphasis on Ladakh’s unique ecosystem and the potential threat it faces. 

They discussed various measures to protect it and featured a documentary by a young Freelancer/Photographer from Leh, Mohd Tanveer. The documentary highlights waste management issues in Ladakh.  

Additionally, Advocate Nema Stanzin spoke about the functions and activities carried out by DLSA, Leh.
