District Level Neighbourhood Youth Parliament organised in Reasi<
REASI, March 16: Nehru Yuva Kendra Udhampur, Ministry of Youths Affairs & Sports, Govt. Of India organised District Level Neighbourhood Youth Parliament in Govt. General Zorawar Singh Memorial Degree College, Reasi. The objective of the programme was to celebrate India’s G20 presidency along with the celebration of International Year of Millets and Mission LiFE. Advocate Sajra Qadir (Vice-Chairperson DDC Reasi) attended the event as Chief Guest whereas Kulwinder Kour (Principal GDC Reasi) was the Guest of Honour. Neeraj Padyar (Dy. SP Hqrs) was the special guest on the occasion.
The event started with the traditional lamp lightening ceremony and Saraswati Vandana. Khushal Gupta, District Youth Officer, NYK Udhampur welcomed the guests, resource persons and participants and briefed about the objectives organising the event. It was followed by the lectures by resource persons. Prof. Baldev Singh gave an awareness lecture on G20 and importance of its presidency by India. Dr. Rajendra Kumar briefed about the International Year of Millets whereas Dr. Anshu Gupta delivered lecture on Mission LiFE.
Young participants also spoke on the occasion and gave their views followed by the cultural performance by the students. Advocate Sajra Qadir appreciated the initiative of Nehru Yuva Kendra Udhampur and added that such programs need to be organised in regular intervals for dissemination of information to the masses. It is pertinent to mention that more than 1000 participants attended the program anchored by National Youth Volunteer Anjali Anand. NYVs Meena Dogra and Ajay Kumar also attended the programme.
