District Level Neighbourhood Youth Parliament programme held at Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, March 27: Nehru Yuva Kendra Udhampur, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India organised a District Level Neighbourhood Youth Parliament at Riwaayat. The objective was to celebrate India’s G20 presidency, International Year of Millets and Mission LiFE.

The event was attended by DDC Councillor, Puran Chand as chief guest and Assistant Labour Commissioner, Pradyot Gupta as guest of honour. Superintendent ITI, Er Naresh Singh was a special guest.

District Youth Officer, Khushal Gupta welcomed the guests and participants and explained the objectives of the event. Lectures were given by resource persons Uttam Singh Albela on G20 and its presidency by India and Prof Sanjay Kumar on International Year of Millets and Mission LiFE.

Young participants spoke and gave their views followed by cultural performances by students. Puran Chand appreciated the initiative by Nehru Yuva Kendra and called for regularly organising such programs for information dissemination.

Pradyot Gupta spoke about government initiatives for uplifting the marginalised and poor, giving detailed explanations of schemes for youth.

More than 1000 participants attended the program anchored by NYK Volunteer, Barsha Sharma and Chairman of Bhartiya Kala Manch, Deepak Kumar. The programme ended with the distribution of certificates and mementos to participants.
