District Level Training on “Holistic Agriculture Development Programme” conducted at Kishtwar
KISHTWAR, FEBRUARY 8: In continuation to the District Level Training under “Holistic Agriculture Development Programme” being held in the district, a training programme regarding “Development of Fodder Resources” was organized today here in the Conference Hall, DC Office Complex.
The training programme was conducted under the supervision of Chief Agriculture Officer, Amjad Hussain Malik.
Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Dr Sanjay Sen, I/c KVK, Dr. Narinder Paul, District Level Officers, Sub-Division Level Officers, besides other field Officers and technical staff of Agriculture, Animal & Sheep Husbandry of Kishtwar district attended the training programme.
More than 100 participants were imparted training in 4 technical sessions by resource persons Dr. Arif Shah, Dr. Amjad Hussain Malik, Dr. Umar Bhat and Dr. Narinder Paul.
During the training it was briefed that J&K UT is deficit in around 41% of fodder which is met through imports.
For attaining self-sufficiency and sustainability under “Holistic Agriculture Development Programme”, an outlay of Rs 129 Crore has been earmarked for five years project period.
This will bring an expected outcome of the programme with verifiable parameters project reduction of deficit upto 80% at the end of five years period with enhanced quality and quantity of fodder production.
An interactive session was held after the technical part for clearing the queries raised by the participants.
