District Magistrate reviews Defense related issues in Udhampur
UDHAMPUR, September 11: District Magistrate Udhampur, Saloni Rai presided over a crucial meeting in the Mini Conference Hall, DC Office Complex and addressed vital defense-related concerns.
The meeting brought together officials from the Revenue Department and Defense to discuss a range of significant issues.
Key topics discussed included land acquisition, the de-requisition of land used as a firing range, the construction of a road from Sansoo to Chopra Shop and Thomas Bridge to Village Kotli Pain for the benefit of local residents around army establishments, rent payments, and the mutation of defense land.
Present at the meeting were Additional Deputy Commissioner, Joginder Singh Jasrotia; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Rafiq Ahmad Jaral, besides Army officers Col. Vinod Perugu (Adm Commandant); Col. Q. Parveen Singh, and Col. HS Gill, along with representatives from the Defense Estates Office.
During the meeting, the District Magistrate emphasized the importance of initiating the land indent process where Revenue papers have been submitted and urged cooperation between defense officers and Revenue officers in conducting joint verification of acquired land and taking immediate possession. She encouraged both army and Revenue Officers to prioritize and coordinate their efforts to efficiently resolve the issues, emphasizing the need to overlook minor issues to achieve their goals.
The Revenue officers were instructed to create a time-bound action plan to ensure the efficient resolution of all defense-related issues, especially the preparation of revenue papers and attestation of Mutations.
The office of the Defense Estates Officer was directed to provide any available old maps of requisitioned land or records to expedite the acquisition process.
