District Road Safety Committee (DRSC) Meeting held at Kishtwar
KISHTWAR, February 16: The meeting of the District Road Safety Committee was held today here in conference Hall DC Office Complex Kishtwar under the Chairmanship of Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Sham Lal.
The meeting was attended by GM NHIDCL, OC GREF, CMO, ExEn R&B Kishtwar, ExEn R&B Chatroo, ExEn R&B Marwah, ExEn PMGSY Kishtwar, ExEn PMGSY Chatroo, ExEn PMGSY Marwah, DSP HQ Police, DSP Traffic Police, ARTO and others.
During the meeting, the progress was reviewed on the implementation of road safety measures, Road Safety Act, identification of Black Spots, Erection of crash barriers, Road Safety Audit of all major Roads, identification and establishment of Trauma Centres, fixation of road signage, speed limit & traffic calming measures and establishment of Road Safety Club in Schools/Colleges.
Necessary directions were given to concerned Executive Engineers to expedite the Road Safety Audit of existing roads of district Kishtwar and authorities were asked to complete it in a time frame manner.
Concerned departments, NHIDCL and BRO authorities were directed to rectify black spots, install crash barriers, Road Signages and other Traffic regulating measures especially in accident-prone areas which shall be identified and focused upon, to minimize accidents.
The report presented by the Committee constituted for the identification of black spots in the district was also reviewed during the meeting.
All the stakeholders were directed to work in a coordinated manner to achieve the tangible results in the implementation of road safety measures in the district.
ADDC Kishtwar stressed for intensifying the Checking drive especially night checking to curb the violation of traffic rules and exhorted upon the motor vehicle department to take strict action against violators.
Special thrust was given on the identification and creation of more parking spaces in the Kishtwar town during the meeting.
