District Samba Panchayats Embrace BHIM-UPI Based Cashless Transactions for Financial Inclusion

SAMBA, August 7: In a significant stride towards digitization and financial inclusion, the Deputy Commissioner Samba, Abhishek Sharma today launched a promotional campaign to encourage adoption of BHIM-UPI based cashless transactions by panchayats in the district.

The momentous occasion took place in a program attended by representatives of panchayats who received QR codes from the DC Samba, marking the first step in this transformational journey.

By adopting cashless transactions, the panchayats aim to streamline the collection of various applicable taxes, user fees, and other revenues from citizens. This move facilitates convenient and automatic fund transfers, providing an easy payment option for the common man while enhancing transparency and minimizing the chances of mismanagement.

During the meeting, DC Samba lauded the efforts of NABARD and J&K Bank for their swift provision of QR codes to the panchayats, enabling the district to take a decisive leap towards digitization. This initiative showcases the commitment of the district’s administration to foster a digitally empowered and financially inclusive community.

As more panchayats join the cashless revolution, District Samba paves the way for a progressive and forward-looking society, where digital financial transactions become the norm. This endeavor will undoubtedly bolster economic growth and propel the district towards new heights of prosperity.
