District Social Welfare Office, Leh in collaboration with ALIMCO distributes assistive devices to Beneficiaries

Leh, July 12, 2024: The District Social Welfare Office, Leh in collaboration with the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO) successfully organized a distribution camp for assistive devices, benefiting senior citizens and individuals with disabilities on July 12. This initiative is a follow up of the assessment camp held earlier.

The event took place at Nari-Niketan Hostel, Leh where assistive devices such as wheelchairs, hearing aids, crutches, silicon foam cushions, knee braces, LS belts, prosthetic limbs and other essential aids were distributed.

The distribution camp received an overwhelming response from the community with a large number of beneficiaries receiving the devices they need to improve their quality of life.

The event commenced with District Social Welfare Officer, Leh, Nilza Angmo distributing the assistive devices to the beneficiaries. Guests from ALIMCO included Dr. Tushar Siwach, Dr. Puneet Dubey and Technician Sourav Kamal also participated in the event.

Beneficiaries expressed their heartfelt thanks, sharing how these assistive devices would significantly impact their daily lives and enable them to lead more independent and fulfilling lives.
