District TB Society Baramulla celebrates TB Free Panchayat-2023 Award Ceremony
BARAMULLA, JUNE 29: The District TB Society Baramulla commemorated the TB Free Panchayat 2023 achievements at Dak Banglow Sopore, recognizing and honoring 122 panchayats for their remarkable efforts in achieving TB-free status.
The event, presided over by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, underscored and celebrated community-led initiatives in public health.
In his address, DC praised the collective dedication and hard work of the panchayats, stressing the importance of community-driven initiatives in achieving public health milestones. He emphasized the critical roles of early detection, timely treatment, and community awareness in effectively combating tuberculosis, urging continuous vigilance and collaboration among all stakeholders.
During the ceremony, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Sopore, Shabir Ahmad Raina delivered a speech praising the dedication and perseverance of the panchayats. He highlighted the pivotal role of community-driven efforts in achieving significant health milestones and applauded the collaborative spirit among stakeholders in the district’s fight against tuberculosis.
The event was attended by senior officers including Assistant Commissioner Panchayat Baramulla, Chief Medical Officer Baramulla, District Panchayat Officer Baramulla, all Block Medical Officers of District Baramulla, Medical Officers, MLHPs, Panchayat Secretaries, and NTEP staff.
Chief Medical Officer Baramulla Dr. Mastoora provided insights into the importance of sustained efforts in TB prevention and control, stressing the ongoing need for community engagement and support.
Looking ahead, District Tuberculosis Officer Baramulla, Dr. Hafizullah Ganie, reaffirmed the district administration’s commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at eliminating TB.
The ceremony concluded with a renewed pledge to uphold and enhance public health initiatives in Baramulla, setting a positive example for other regions.
