Distt Admin Gbl launches 24×7 Helpline Numbers to combat harassment in Public Transportation
GANDERBAL, JANUARY 27: In response to the rising concerns over harassment targeting female students and women commuters on public transportation, the District Administration Ganderbal, under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Shyambir has taken proactive steps to enhance passenger safety by launching round the clock helpline numbers for assistance to such victims.
The 24×7 helpline numbers, prominently displayed on posters will be circulated throughout the district. These helpline numbers are designed to empower female victims and witnesses to report incidents promptly, especially within the realm of public transport.
The primary goal of this initiative is to create a safer environment for all public transport users. Authorities are urging the community to actively engage in reporting any such incidents, contributing to the collective effort in curbing harassment against women.
