Div Com Jammu accords warm reception to Champion para Athelete Sheetal Devi & Rakesh Kumar at Jammu;  congratulates them for winning medals at Para Asian Games

JAMMU, NOVEMBER 02: Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar today received and welcomed 16-year-old Para Athletes Sheetal Devi and Para Athelete Rakesh Kumar at Jammu. The Para Athletes have returned after winning Medals at recently concluded Para Asian Games held in Hangzhou, China.

Sheetal Devi, who was born without arms, has defied all odds to become the World’s First Armless Female Champion Archer.

The Div Comm saluted her grit, determination and invincible spirit of Sheetal Devi that made her worlds first para Archer without arms. He also lauded the hardwork and  achievements of Rakesh Kumar.

The UT of J&K and while nation is proud of the achievements of the para Athletes, he said.

The Div Comm further added that rhe UT of J&K under the guidance of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha is making all efforts to promote sports and promote the sportspersons.

He also appreciated the role of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board for nurturing and provide facilities to the athletes.
