DLC Ramban approves 7 trout units under HADP

RAMBAN, August 03: Deputy Commissioner, Mussarat Islam, chaired a meeting of the District Level Committee on Holistic Agriculture Development Plan (HADP) in his office chamber today.

After scrutinizing all applications, a total of 10 proposals for trout fish units from different categories were presented before the committee under HADP plan for the year 2023-24. After detailed discussion, the panel approved 7 feasible proposals. The total cost of 7 approved units is Rs 38.50 lakh with a subsidy component of Rs.19.80 Lakh under HADP.

The DC said that the Holistic Agriculture Development Plan is a central scheme aimed at harnessing the fisheries sector potential in a sustainable manner to double the income of Fish Farmers. He asked the department to sensitize people to adopt fish farming as a livelihood through fish culture under HADP scheme.

The DC directed the concerned department to closely monitor the establishment and management of existing and newly approved fish farms by conducting regular inspections. He further asked the department to identify more potential areas with a good source of cold stream and spring water for the establishment of more units.

Among others, ACR Giasul-Haq, CPO Dr. Kasturi Lal, GM DIC Ravinder Anand, ACD Ashok Katoch, LDM, Deputy Registrar Cooperatives, DDM NABARD and various other senior officers attended the meeting.
