DLL JU organises one-day interaction on Constitutional & Legal Provisions for Women in India

JAMMU, April 20: A one-day interaction was held with the first and fourth-semester students of the Master in Rural Studies (MRS) Department of Lifelong Learning, University of Jammu on the theme “Constitutional & Legal Provisions for Women in India” on 20th April 2023.

The resource person for the interaction was Dr. Bindu Sangra (Assistant Professor, The Law School). She interacted with the students on the constitutional & legal provisions prevalent for women in India. She discussed in detail about the women-related legislation for protecting their rights. Amongst the various issues discussed she elaborated upon domestic violence and sexual harassment at work place.

She also discussed about the evolution and existence of various legal provisions. She emphasized upon the empowerment of women for the development of an equalitarian society. Dr. Jeevan Jyoti, Director, Department of Lifelong Learning welcomed the guest and Dr. Priyanka Sharma conducted the programme. Others present on the occasion were Dr. Vivek Sharma, Dr. Pallavi Sachdeva and Dr. Sandeep Singh.
