DLSA Bandipora organises Awareness programme on ‘World Mental Health Day’
BANDIPORA, October 10: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Bandipora in collaboration with Health Department Bandipora Tuesday organized an awareness programme regarding ‘World Mental Health Day’ at Govt Boys Hr. Sec. School Kaloosa, Bandipora.
The programme was presided over by Chairman, DLSA (Pr. District & Sessions Judge) Bandipora, Amit Sharma. Secretary DLSA, Nusrat Ali Hakak was also present.
The programme aimed to spread awareness, educate people and enhance their understanding about mental health conditions and equip them with the skills necessary for addressing these issues.
The Secretary DLSA highlighted the objectives of organizing this awareness programme. She threw light on creative aspects and values of life and stressed on living a balanced life, psychologically, mentally and physically.
People should keep trying to develop constructive health thought processes and imbibe all those traits which ensure our inner purity, she added.
Dr. Parvaiz Ahmad from District Hospital Bandipora presented his talk on Young people and mental health in a changing world. He enlightened students on technical aspects of mental health and resilience to recover. He also sensitized the participants on the issue of mental health and how to cope up with stress, anxiety and depression.
He urged the teachers to leave no stone unturned in addressing the challenges and pressures that this age group faces, such as academic stress, Peer Pressure and identity formation.
The programme was also attended by staff Members of DLSA Bandipora, staff members and students of the said institution and Para Legal Volunteers.
