DLSA conducts Awareness programme at Gurez

BANDIPORA, April 25: District Legal Services Authority (DLSA)  Bandipora under the aegis of JK Legal Services Authority Tuesday organized an awareness programme regarding Dignity, Prevention of Insults and Proper disposal of National Flag on the occasions of important national, cultural and sports events.

The programme was organised in collaboration with Tehsil Legal Services Centre Gurez and Education Department Bandipora.

Chairman DLSA/Pr. District & Sessions Judge Bandipora, Amit Sharma and Secretary DLSA Bandipora, Nusrat Ali Hakak were present on the occasion.

Officials said the objective of the program was to spread the awareness among masses regarding Dignity, Prevention of Insults and Proper disposal of national flag on the occasions of important national, cultural and sports events.

Speaking on the occasion, Principal GGHSS Dawar  stressed on the importance of the national flag and proper disposal of the national flag on the occasions of important National, cultural and sports events with the dignity of the flag.

Addressing the gathering, speakers said that everyone ought to respect the National Flag during event and if anyone who is found allegedly disrespecting the national flag at an event the gathering, in public place or in any other place within public view burns, mutilates, defaces, defiles, disfigures, destroys, tramples upon or otherwise shows disrespect to or brings into contempt (whether by words, either spoken or written, or by acts) the Indian National Flag or the Constitution of India or any part thereof, shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to three years, or with fine, or with both.

Features of the Flag Code of India were also highlighted such as Removal of restriction on the display of the national flag by government bodies, educational institutes, and other applicable entities enlisted in the Indian flag code and Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act, 1971.

Among others, the programme witnessed the presence of Lecturers, teachers, Staff members, students and besides common people were also present.
