DLSA Kathua organises Training cum Orientation programme for Penal lawyers, legal Volunteers
KATHUA, July 24: District Legal Services Authority Kathua organized a One Day Training/Orientation & Sensitization programme for Panel Lawyers and Para Legal Volunteers in the conference hall of District Courts Complex, here today.
The programme was organised to provide an overview of the role of Legal Aid Lawyers and the code of ethics which they are required to adhere to.
The event was held as per the directions of Chairman, District Legal Services Authority Kathua (Pr. District & Sessions Judge Kathua), Ashok Kumar Shavan, who also presided over the training session.
He sensitized the participants as to what exactly are their duties and responsibilities. He also sensitized the Panel Advocates and PLVs that they are the first interface with the public at the gross root level and how they can act as a bridge to fulfill the Constitutional mandate under Article 39-A of the Constitution by enhancing their knowledge and ability to discharge their duties as Legal Aid Lawyers and PLVs to the needy persons through the DLSA Kathua.
Earlier, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority Kathua Rekha Kapoor Nischal, presented the welcome address whereas vote of thanks was presented by Deputy Chief Legal Aid Defence Counsel, DLSA Kathua Puneet Kumari.
The training session was attended by Deputy Chief Legal Aid Defense Counsel, Assistant Legal Aid Defense Counsel, all the Panel Lawyers and Para Legal Volunteers of District Legal Services Authority Kathua.
